There are 3 coach companies running bus services through the village. Timetables vary and we don't have any definitive information to display here. Times vary with the school terms and stops vary with the coach companies. The 3 main coach companies serving Gorefield are:

Gorefield Community Car Scheme
What is Gorefield Community Car Scheme?
The Car Scheme provides door-to-door transport for those folks, especially the elderly, who do not have the use of a car and cannot make a journey by bus or dial-a-ride.
The Journeys are arranged at the discretion of a coordinator and the driver of the vehicle.
These Volunteers support the community by giving both their time and vehicles and do not make a profit, only recovering their running costs.

The residents of the Gorefield locality.

What type of journey may I make?
In order of priority
Medical. Doctors, Hospitals, Dentists. Opticians, Chiropodist, Physiotherapists, Chiropractic
Services. Hospital patient visiting, Picking up prescriptions.
Socially. Subject to availability visiting relatives and friends, shopping and other social activities,
How much does it cost?
The person requesting the journey is asked to contribute 30p per mile and each accompanying passenger 5p per passenger per mile. The driver receives a subsidy per mile from Cambridgeshire County Council. The combined amount aims to cover expenses incurred by the driver, such as petrol costs and some of the wear and tear on the car. Passengers are asked to pay their contribution to the driver on the day of travel.
Please note there is a minimum charge of 3 00 for all journeys

Please try to give as much notice as you can - at least 24 hours notice would be appreciated, Obvious we know but please leave your name, address and telephone number if you use the answer phone

Volunteer drivers needed
bullet Do you like helping people?
bullet Do you have a few hours to spare and could use your car to help people in the village who are without transport get to appointments, services and to stay in touch with family and friends?
A mileage allowance is available to cover your costs and additional insurance cover is provided. However our insurers do have in place two conditions that are quite normal by today's standards
bullet that a volunteer allows sight of a current driving licence and other driving documents.
bullet that a volunteer is happy to allow for a CRB check
